Thirteen members from the Douglas Shire Motor Sports Association competed in the Richie Collis Grader Hire Khanacross
at the Reef and Rainforest Track, Sunday 12th August '07.
Superb track conditions saw some of the closest racing ever at the track with only seconds separating the top runners,
and despite the number of "offs", and "dramas", throughout the day there was only 2 1/4 minutes from 1st to last at days end after 10 runs each.
As always Club Cameraderie saw cars reappearing, to continue racing, after all seemed lost.
Peter Hendry, in the Tableland Automatics Datsun 120Y, was the overall winner on the day
with a total time of 1030.74 seconds, qnd also took out the 1600 - 2litre class.
It has been said, with respect to elders, that Peter is "That Old Bloke Still Having a Go!"
Suspicion abounds whether Peter's recent heart problems may have seen some drugs prescribed
enabling a level of skill and ability belying his years!
Peter has recently built a new car, shown here, which is currently capable
of beating almost all others, and when he gets pumped up it's all go!
His newfound, albeit suspicious health, is killing others on the track!
(Note : Random drug testing is a possibility at future events!)

Peter was followed home by the Ford Escort

Bloody Big Bloke - Seriously Small Space!

Despite having an off at the notorious Colt Corner,

and losing valuable time,

Steven Hendry still managed
to bring his Nissan Bluebird home in third place
with a time of 1046.83.

Steven was not the only off at Colt Corner
with Andrew Horn going off at exactly the same place,
albeit in a different direction,
with Tony Fox & Scott Cahill also giving the inside bank a nudge
on the last run of the day.

The under 1600 class was won

driving his Burmack RACQ Ford Laser

Racing his Holden Commodore for the first time in over 3 years

took out the over 2 litre class

with a time of 1063.64 seconds.
Luke has been invited to return the car to the shed for another 3 years
lest he become too damn quick!
Anne Thornbury had to jump in her valued GT Four Celica,
after Andrews off at Colt Corner in the 280Z she was sharing with him,
and subsequently took out the Ladies class with a time of 1112.43 seconds.

She even let Andrew drive the prized GT as well,

despite his numerous recent "bad luck" incidents!.
Aint love sweet ;)
