The Motorsports Mossman Maniac Mugs Open Khanacross
was for all drivers over 14 years old @ The Reef & Rainforest Track, Mossman
from noon to 4pm Saturday 9th August and from 8am to 4pm Sunday 10th August.
Dave Page in his imported 4wd Evo. 1st Place Overall & 1st in 4wd Class.Curly Hendry in his ever reliable Bluebird. 2nd Overall & 1st in 1600-2lt Class.Foxy putting the Big Red Falcon through its paces. 3rd Overall & 1st in Over2lt Class.Bruce Perry in his Classic 4WD Subaru wagon. A very credible 4th Overall & 2nd in 4WD Class in only his 3rd motor sports event.Mick Scomozzon in his Commodore. 5th Overall & 2nd in Over2lt Class.Stick Quinn bouncing his Gemini into Cockatoo Curve. 6th Overall & 2nd in 1600-2lt Class. Sticks bouncing around saw his car less then straight at days end, with a major off on Colt Corner followed immediately after by a rollover coming onto Camira Straight. Still finished though!Robert Wocheslander finding the limits of the Club Car. 7th Overall & 3rd in the 1600-2lt Class. Robert has almost found the limits of the old bluebird, with its underpowered engine and on its pizza cutter tyres, so we look forward to seeing him in a more competitive rig in the near future.Alex Scomozzon in his Scummydore. 8th Overall, 3rd in Over2lt Class, & 1st Junior. If only he were in a Ford he might have much better results!Aaron Dunkerton showing dramatic improvement in the Club Car. 9th Overall & 2nd Junior.Keith Callinen in the Falcon Wagon. 4th on Saturday. Keith competes in rallies worldwide, with great results, and despite this event being a little beneath what he is used to the mile wide smile on his face throughout the day displayed just how much fun he was having!Jim Wallace having a Saturday cruise in the Falcon Wagon. 9th on Saturday. Jim is a legend in FNQ tourism, and a regular tarmac motor sports competitor. Another new competitor at our track who will definitely be back after laughing his way throughout the day.Mick Tesch pushing his Cortina through Cockatoo Curve. 10th on Saturday. Another new competitor who will be back, with modifications already underway on his Corty.Sean Tesch in his Dads Cortina. 11th on Saturday. Sean chased his Dad hard all day, and despite beating him in one run was not able to finish ahead at days end, much to Micks relief!Scottie Cahill doing his best to tip his battered Laser. 5th on Sunday. Always competitive Scottie just doesn't back off in his Laser, and truly pushes it well beyond any design limits!Dunko in the Falcon Wagon. 4th on Sunday. A legend in Australian Motor Sport Dunko wasn't quite able to beat Foxy on the day, which Foxy is taking great delight in telling anyone who will listen!Greg Skyring in his Mitsibishi. 9th on Sunday. Unfortunately Greg only got a couple of runs in his own car before Ethan damaged it, but he's already got repairs underway and may be a little more careful with offering drives to gung-ho kids in the future!Cliff Hoffman in Gregs Mitsibishi. 12th on Sunday. Cliff had to finish Sunday in the Falcon Wagon, after his son Ethans off at Colt Corner, but had a little fun in the Mitsi before then.Ethan Hoffman in the Club Car. 14th On Sunday. Ethan started the day in Gregs Mitsibishi but after putting it off the road, and out of action, on the notorious Colt Corner he had to revert to the Club Car to finish the day.
