The Reef & Rainforest Track
The Douglas Shire Motor Sports Association has its own Khanacross & Motorkhana Track for car competitions, 3 km's north of Mossman.
The DSMSA has had The Reef & Rainforest Track since 2001 and has a long term lease in place for its continued use.
The Reef & Rainforest Track has been rated by proven driving champions as being one of the best "grass roots" community car tracks in Australia!

UNLESS AS PART OF A DSMSA AUTHORISED EVENT!
The Reef & Rainforest Track is used by the car competitor members of the DSMSA
on a very regular basis with up to 12 official events held annually.
During competition track variations are made throughout events
with changes in direction and different parts of the track being used.
The layout of the track enables great visibility for all spectators and officials
and the ability to be able to run both Motorkhanas & Khanacrosses together.
The bold black outline, on the map to the left,
is the permanent Khanacross Track layout
with the small inside track area area used for Motorkhanas at bottom right.
Measuring approximately 750mts around the outside loop
with a pronounced difference in land level
and a steep climb heading towards Errey Drop & Treeline from either direction
the track provides challenging and competitive driving conditions.
The track provides fun for drivers of all skill levels
with numerous opportunities to learn driving limits safely for all age groups.
A strong emphasis is always placed on driver education,
family participation, community spirit, and fun!
Spectators Are Welcome At All Events.
No charge for entry. Bring a chair and watch the fun!
All Events Promoted By Motorsports Mossman & Provided By The DSMSA
are CAMS Sanctioned and have all required permits and licenses in place
providing a safe and legal environment in which to have some fun
without endangering members of the public or suffering the wrath of the law.
The Reef & Rainforest Tracks use is limited to actual DSMSA official events only.
Any DSMSA member using the Reef & Rainforest Track, outside of actual authorised events,
will immediately have his / her DSMSA membership rescinded.
Those same persons, and any other non-member, may find themselves reported to the police
and charged with trespass should their illegal activities continue.
